Starvation with 1k+ food?
So I have a sector (Sector 6) which produce food and have 800+ food stock.
I need only 16 food to feed all my workers in this sectors. But people starving. And they starving for... idk... 20 cycles in a row. Why? Screenshot attached.

Homelessness contributes to hunger.
Also, in case you ever hit the food stall limit.. the food stall maxes out at 50. any more and you have to make another one.

Move those crew members that are homeless.
On the off chance that something happens, and your crew miss one food cycle, they will be listed as starving until the next eating cycle hits.

Beyond that, I'm not sure what to tell you. Can you take another screenshot or 2 that shows what the notifications for homelessness, starving, and such say? might help me to help you.

Side note.. are the issues being listed as from the same sector as the one that has all your food (example.. 900 food in sector 5, but starvation in sector 6)

In this sector 0 homeless people. 4 max graded houses = 91 * 4 = 384 > 315.
I have a bit homeless in other Sections, but this is other sections...

I have problems with food in section 3 to be honest, becouse there are 2k people here and I havent enought time to transfer food for them. But again - its another Sector. I understand why they are starving sometimes.

Idk what happenin in Section 6... maybe they transfer food for 100% of their time so they dont have enought time to eat. But it sounds strange.

Starving the Sector with all my food (Sector 6).
i am unsure from your screenshot before... did you not build housing in sector 6? or did i miss it...?
remove like 4 - 6 of food storage containers completely, free up a wall and build a huge housing complex. it cant hurt, if only for testing to see if it fixes the issues.

In the resources menu, do you be any chance keep a minimum "desired" value for food in Sector 6? Or perhaps (by accident) you are just exporting it to all other sectors... just my thoughts

Yes this sector have low "desired" value and trying to export all food to another Sectors. But:
1 - it was ok for the whole game (until I hit some population... 2800+ maybe)
2 - Mess hall always have enought food to feed all people in sector

I use houses on screenshot below. Btw I builded Cell Housing - its empty and Sector 6 still starving (you can see that Sector 3 starving too - but its ok).

So in image I see two Mess Halls, each with 11 food each and a check mark, which indicates there is enough food to feed the populace. Normally 22 food wouldn't normally be enough to feed all 315 in your sector, but since you have DLS building, I assume the reduced rations policy is in effect and this isn't the reason people are starving.

Since this is currently a meal cycle, and the citizens haven't eaten yet, I can only assume these people were just transferred in from another sector within the past 5 days, and they were starving from missing a meal cycle in their previous home.

You mentioned you have food problems in Sector 3 because there are over 2,000 people there, so I guess some of them were starving and you moved them to Sector 6 which has lots of food. If that's correct, then if you let the meal cycle conclude, everyone should no longer be starving.

I didnt move people between Sectors. I putting all non-workers in Sector 3 and thats all. If I fast forward for 20 cycles Sector 6 is always starving (and extinct becouse of it).
I can feed all people with only 22 food becouse I learned tecnology for Mess hall (food can feed 1.5 times more people).

Hmm, OK, I have no idea then. Pretty stumped by that. Personally I would try deleting both mess halls and rebuilding to see if that fixes it. Otherwise, no clue!

There's a bug report on the discord about this. If you move a migration order to move everyone everyone out and then immediately cancel it, it stops the starvation effect.

It dont working unfortunately :( To temporaly solve this problem I transfer 500 people from Sector 3 with food problem to Sector 6 and build 4 more houses. And now nobody starving.

It's a bug. Even with enough food/power/space for everyone they'll consume the food but not fulfil their food need and start starving to death after 2 meal cycles. The only thing I've found that fixed it was to reload a save before it started happening, if you get lucky it won't happen the next time round.

Hello, I have the same bug but it is in all sectors, it starts in 2 sectors and slowly all my 4 sectors are dying of food with more than 200 of food in the sectors just siting there. I tried to reload the game on old saves to see if it would fix it but whenever I reach the 3072 mark everyone starts refusing to eat or whatever. do i need to reload further back the game? I just survived a big event in the 3rd solar system, I don't want to have to redo everything :(
