connect the stockpile to the supply... how?!?
so yeah this demo sucks donkey balls. 3 minutes in and it says "connect stockpile to supply" no idea how to actually do that whatsoever and no feedback anywhere to explain how to do that?

I mean I guess it's good to find out now that this game is hot garbage as opposed to spending money on it, lol :P

After scratching my head for a bit i was able to figure it out. Once you have a stockpile built, and chosen the resource to gather, click on the little box above the resource and it will automatically collect afterwards.

It didn't take a whole lot of thought. Just click the stockpile, select what you want the stockpile to stock. Then, make roads so people can path their way to where they need to be and click the now highlighted supplies on the crates.

I'm feel you're trolling given the language you're using, but if you're actually being sincere please be more constructive when detailing your grievances or problems with the game. Generally you can either figure things out on your own or ask for help. And if you feel it's a bug, report it as a bug, or even a missing feature.

wow, wow another woke with hurt feelings. Come ans ask for help but dont indulge yourself in such an inappropriate language. Wow you exude self entitlement. To dismiss the work of the devs because they didnt lead you by your hand is so wrong. If you have bother to check the forum you would have found the answer to your question? Or you just want to talk about balls? Very disrespectful, go away troll.

Blaming the devs for their own stupidity, classic. It's really not hard to figure out, I guess you need a tutorial to find bold and italic on Word?

Quit the emotional replies and answer the question. Binkypoo McSnugglecakes is correct: there is no instruction on how to connect stockpiles. There should be one in some sort of help screen, or the beginner will waste an hour trying to solve the riddle. The stockpile becomes connected to the supply by a road. It is not enough to put a stockpile on a road: it must be facing the correct direction. When building the stockpile, one can hit the /R/ key to rotate the stockpile, but once the stockpile is placed, it cannot be rotated. If it is down already, one must build a road to the stockpile's entrance. When you are about to put the building down, it changes colors: green means it has access to a road, orange means it does not, and red means you can't put it there because something already occupies those squares. A screen or easily found "game mechanics" page with these sorts of details would be a great improvement.

Same problem here, been trying to figure this out for 30 mins, thought it was a bug. Thanks for actually answering the question.

I think we are playing 2 different games because your problem can be solved real quick by reading the tutorial on the left side of your screen.

Yeah this is definitely bugged, my stockpile entrance is connected to a road, it is set to alloy and I have the supplies set to activate. But the stockpile itself is stuck at under construction with no movement. Anyone know what I'm missing?
Kaery Dec 10, 2022 @ 12:46pm
Are you missing materials to build, perhaps? Or is that your first stockpile? That one should build automatically, no 'under construction'.

As for the people that don't know that only one side of the stockpile is actually accessible, only that side has arrows and the graphic even changes color whether or not that side it touching a road. I'm not sure how much clearer one can make it, what are your suggestions?

i made this so much easier for my self
sector 6 was my factory area for processing
sector 5 was my cargo hold and from there it would hand out resources to other Sectors
Food/Alloys/poly/elecs
sector 1 was my main docking area for all cargo/mine/science vessels
sector 2 was my mushrooms farm + agile farm
sector 3 was extra food if need be or just housing
sector 4 is my main entertaining and hospital areas /cryo and cryo pod storage

What chapter did you set that all up? Cause Im 13 hrs in, still on Chapter 2.. with 2 sectors unlocked.. lol

I've done a balanced approach where both do a lot of the same things for now. But Id like to specialise in the long-term like yours.

I did figure out what I was doing wrong shortly after posting. Wanted to post here again for any others hitting the same thing. The tutorial says construct a workshop, and then construct a stockpile. So it is not obvious that this is already built for you on the screen. Hence I built a stockpile but since you start with no resources it doesn't build. The stockpile they provide is in the upper left of the screen. Just need to connect roads to it and select alloy for storage. I think the wording should be clearer in the tasks to use the provided already built stockpile. Since multiple people were having problems it was definitely more confusing than it needed to be
