Dredgers
Game is too short.
There's 6 zones, but feels like there should be at least 8... Enemies also scale too hard, like I kind of was okay with Elvish Enforcer curbstomping me at first, but then you're all leveled up and go back, and get curb stomped even harder. The only way to kill an Elvish enforcer is to literally cheat by getting it stuck on a tile with a jump, or as an archer using glue/sand and poison/fire to very slowly kill it. Gold key room enemies are way too strong, you have to literally cheat to kill them or reroll your character 1000 times until you get broken equipment or something but even with really good equipment they usually insta-kill me.

The starting club is also the best weapon by far for Warrior class for the vast majority of the game, since it has knockback and can be set on fire to cheese enemies to death. Game also desperately needs a save function. Game wasn't worth 13$ but maybe if the dev updates it, it will be one day.

Here's good advice: The laboratory should give you way less green gems, but also have easier enemies, all the other double key rooms are fine in terms of loot, but the enemies are way too strong. Though I think the laboratory gives you so many green gems because you're suppose to sell them to buy Quoog crafted items so maybe drop their prices by 10-20% in the lava zone.

I would definitely like at add more zones, just mostly been working on improving game mechanics than adding much new content currently.

Gold key rooms are generally meant to be impossible, since the loot there is insane, so as you pointed out, you'd generally only go in there if you have obscenely good equipment/stats.

Starting club is probably the worst melee weapon in the game by far, because of it's trash scaling, if you need knockback, going maces is generally better since they can be used with heavy hits for double damage and even more increased knockback. Though, starting with mace requires turning on advanced player mode in the options

Labs themselves are meant to be the hardest content in the game, so I'm more or less fine where they stand. Quooz merchant was only added as part of the recent update more as a response to players generally having a lot of cash, not because of labs specifically, but they work pretty well together you are right :)

Thanks for the feedback!
