How to change clothes?

I must be completely overlooking something because I swear none of the clothing I've received from NPCs or bought from the store are in my inventory! How do I customize my characters clothing?

It does not go in your inventory, I played using a keyboard so this may not help you but for me I just had to click '5'.

The controls are on the left side of the screen if you forgot the keys :D
