Was the game abandoned by the producer?
Has the game been abandoned by the developer or will it still have future updates?

There has been no signals from the developers since the last update, monorail in Nov 2020. There is a good discussion on the game's state here:

it has been abandoned since release! Pathetic company. I would never buy another game from them.

Looks like it has been abandoned - an incomplete game. Very disappointed.

Apparently the maker got ran out of steam after massive backlash when monorails came out as alot ppl (including myself) patreon/gofundme and took all the money and booked it lol.

I'm not defending anyone but it's worth to add the the last update came out right before the COVID hit really hard.

It's a single developer. They added mod support so people can try to add what they think is missing.

Genuinely curious - at what point do you think it’s ok for a developer to seize work on their game? Where do you put the mark exactly?

Thats the way of gamers these days. All games should have updates forever or they are abandoned and the devs must have Ultra-wide support for the three people with $2000 monitors and Linux support for the 9 people dumb enough to try and game on a work OS.
truth is it's stupid expectations like these that cause small dev companies to abandon games.

Except that if you can't support ultra-wide it's pretty much indication you've done something fundamentally wrong in the way things are designed. It's not as though it's any more difficult. It's purely "we're not going to worry about that because we just don't have to".

If it mattered enough to make devs abandon games as you claim, then maybe, just maybe, it's something that developers need to be accounting for. I think that's a load of hyperbolic horse dookie though. It's less them being bashed for not catering and more that SOME developers know they generally just don't have to care because it really is only 5% or so.

The thing is, 90% of things I try on steam work just fine 5120x1440 or will at least work just fine in some other resolution without changing anything outside the game to make it function. You just about have to intentionally break it or just design UI with total disregard to aspect ratios/resolutions for it to be an issue. I guess its tech owners' fault they then need to wonder what other things in those games are ignored.

We’re a game development company made up of:

Sean Cutino (co-director/artist)

Brad Hall (co-director/programmer)

I just want the answer to one issue: I cannot find the modding folder after subscribing to the Example Mods. I can get the console up but it does nothing. I would like to know is there a link to how to get started modding Automation Empire? I don't care about everyone's opinion on good/bad or abandon/not abandon - I bought it and would like to get my money's worth. So, please help get the info on modding this straightened out. I have checked ALL my folders and find no modding examples even though I am subscribed. (yes, I am under the beta branch)

It would probably be wiser to post that in the Workshop Discussions section. :100percent:
