It is better to read the routes in a specific order?
After getting the Nae route first time (like I'm sure pretty much everyone playing it), I got the route of Sister Centipede unlocked, which is some phases ahead of phase 5. Does this mean it would be better to read first the phases previous to Sister Centipede, or it is okay to start reading this route I got first?

Nah you really should read in order, this aren't routes, the game is linear, just has a questionable forced ADV mechanic. So yeah 5 -> 6 -> 7 ->8

It's a must. Otherwise you'll find the giant robot construction progresses backward. : P

Ah damn, not sure why they allowed the option to read the routes in any order then. Thanks for the answers!

just the problem when there's so much content/story to a single title. Other games of this length also have forced orders.

That's exactly the reason as to why I don't understand why they did it. They could have just made this game with enforced order in reading the routes, and while I can understand that some people like to have the choice when playing VNs, I never had any problem playing VNs with enforced order if there was actually a reason for it to be implemented. Like, imagine getting to read the True Route of Chaos;Child in your first playthrough, you'll understand almost nothing since there's an actual reason as to why the game forces you to read the others routes first, but in this case, since everything happening in the plot is purely linear, they should have just leave it the way it is and made the Nae route as a bonus route you could unlock by fullfilling special conditions like other VNs do, and make it longer than just being a "bad" ending of sorts since we're in it so that it could have some sort of purpose.

That aside, I'm in Phase 10 right now and I'm enjoying it so far. I can understand why many people say Robotics;Notes is the weaker entry in the series since the routes themselves (again, if you can even call them as such) are about the same lenght as the Chaos;Head Noah routes, and it has some pacing issues, but I like that the writing here isn't always just in the perspective of the MC like Linear Bounded Phenogram.

They did it because ADVenture games, by essence, need branching. That's literally it. Dumb choice to fit the conventions when there still are bad ends. But it's literally the only issue with R;NE so whatever.

Also SciADV usually changes perspectives a lot. It's just that S;G never does because >solitary observer.

Chaos;Head Noah does, but only to show what happens at certain times while the MC is doing something unimportant like being in the school or playing games. Sure, it has scenes like when you see Suwa and Hazuki talking with each other in the hospital in regards to him asking to her to give him Takumi's medical history or when you see Kozupii in her house before transfering to the same school as Takumi, but once the plot starts advancing is always in the perspective of the MC, same with Chaos;Child.

Basically, the difference here is that when the Robotics Club starts working for example, while is mostly in the MC perspective sometimes it switches to the perspective of another character in that same situation, while when in the Newspaper Club it was always in the perspective of the MC. Although just to be clear that isn't necessary a bad thing of course, as part of the fun ride in Chaos;Child was allowing the player to guess who the killer was, I was just surprised to see that you get to know the perspective of the other characters a lot more here than just in particular situations.
