The Backrooms Game FREE Edition

Am I doing it right?
So, I kept the shift button pressed for the whole game, didn't see anything. I ran for almost 10 minutes, found a glitchy wall and escaped. No strange creatures, no strange effects, nothing.

I thought running would have triggered something, but no, absolutely calm. I won, and now?

First time I played I didn't run, got caught by whatever it was. Now I used Shift, nothing happened, so I stopped and l just sat there looking behind me what will show up, nothing shows up... Kinda getting bored with this game. I think I will uninstall it.

There is indeed a Being out there in the Backrooms, though it is rare enough that you won't see it during each playthrough. If you'd like to see everything the game currently has to offer, I highly encourage that you DON'T exit as soon as you find an exit, and slowly allow yourself to descend into madness! 😊

However, in a future update, I do intend on making the Being show itself a bit more, especially if you die in the game.

Thanks for the feedback! 😊

I tried sprinting the entire time. Granted, my computer is not the beefiest, so I kept running into walls, but I didn't see anything. Eventually, as in every playthrough, the lights turn off, turn back on, I fall through the floor, and the message "noclipping beneath the backrooms" appears as I fall. If/when I get a better computer, I might get a better experience.
If you turn down the resolution of the game when you start it up, that can help with performance. Ive been playing it at the absolute lowest, 320x200, and the low resolution really ups the ante on the spook effect. Are the walls moving or is that the resolution? Is the floor also moving? Is that an exit? Nope? Oh whats that aaand im dead.

what does it mean when it says "no clipping through the backrooms"? was a sudden ending.

It means you lost. You descended into madness.

ya know a cool idea would be to have a small variety of beings with different behaviors, appearances, and triggers.

I must be missing something here. Nothing I do seems to influence the outcome of the game. What I get are lights popping off, series of noises, tentacle hanging from ceiling, shaky blurry walls then ends with black screen. Ahh well glad I didn't pay for it.

Whats with you guys? The game wont always have the monster. Its part of the creepypasta. Its a demo game (they're making a full version with the actual stages, including stage 3.). Look at the lights, and you'll hear burning, you will go quickly insane. That will show you a different outcome. You're just getting lucky in the game and just finding the exit too often.

I got two plays so far, one reg'lar and the other explorer. Explorer I jsut ran, didn't need to bother with the watch, and I followed a path that actually directly forward, with little turning except to clear corners and continue. About 10 minutes of that, I noticed a hallway that went down quite a ways so I decided to venture forth and found the exit. The exit killed me though 'cause the game runs slow and skippy on my pc, maybe 'cause of Unity itself needing optimizing specific to pcs. The next run was reg'lar and I spent forty whole minutes walking, never running, spending five extra seconds or sometimes 10 to press e, but I did miss the e thing by the longest being, maybe, 15 seconds. Anyways, the only bad stuff to occur were howlings, knocking on walls, and then getting molested to death because I brought the watch up right when I found the thing. That might of been my reaction, after having to do it hundreds of times expecting it to do something to beat the game, which could possibly require work, or just kill the stupid meme dead in an overhaul, refleshing of a new game. How about minotaurs? :)))

Aaand oh yeah, I didn't enture through any doorway at all, plus avoided flickering lights. Eh... whatever that did.
