This patch brings a giant optimization update. The level generation was completely reworked, yielding performance increases of ~100+ FPS in some cases!

But here's the real news:
We are officially working as a full team on The Backrooms Game FULL Edition!

-Added partial controller support (Xbox360 and XboxOne controllers only). Please note that controllers will NOT work in menus, but will ONLY work during gameplay. Full controller support coming in the FULL Edition.
-Sprinting now compatible with Right Shift for all you left handers out there

-Fixed typo on main menu screen
-Modified dead zone of joystick axis detection in hopes of resolving undesirable movement for this with HOTAS’s connected to their system
-Fixed rare bug where the floor would fail to generate
-Fixed rare bug where the ceiling would fail to generate
-Fixed issue where stains on the ceiling would clip in and out of the ceiling as it lowers
-Fixed issue where distance would sometimes calculate incorrectly after very far distances

-Decreased the number of overall tiles used, resulting in less light calculations and a much greater average FPS
-Heavily optimized the level generation algorithm

Hey there all!

The Being is a bit more common in this update, and will behave much more as intended (not spawning right in front of you anymore, less distorted at further distances etc.).

Exits are now a bit more rare, and will likely appear further from the start than in the previous version!

-Being now spawns in more predictable radius around player
-Easter egg now spawns in more predictable radius around player
-Being initial spawn chance increased slightly
-Player will now need to be further from Being for It to disappear
-Increased volume of light pops
-Increased the minimum range for lights to pop overhead
-Room shake madness effect minimum duration extended
-Changed sound of room shake madness effect
-Increased fisheye madness effect initial value

-Decreased distortion shader of the Being
-Decreased the max spawn distance for the Being

-Exits now appear even further from the start

-Being no longer spawns on top of player or directly next to/in front of player (Being will still spawn in front of player, just not at such a drastically close distance)
-Fixed issue where outlets would often pop into existence when a player is near them
-Fixed issue where screen would continue to shake after death during the room shake madness effect

-Added options menu to pause menu while playing game
-Added volume slider to options menu
-Added seizure warning

-Made “Remember who you are and where you come from” text slightly yellow
-Made text on initial settings menu more readable
-Easter egg will no longer appear in a particular game once interacted with at least once
-Increased Being spawn rate by 100%
-Increased Being range to sense player by 33%

-Fixed issue where madness would still increase after pausing game
-Fixed issue where game would sometimes not unpause after being paused for a long period of time
-Fixed issue where tentacle ceiling tiles would sometimes not spawn a tentacle

-Optimized materials in order to make use of more dynamic batching
-Optimized ceiling decals to be excluded from dynamic realtime global illumination
