Weird audio jumping issue

I wear headphones for most of my gaming, and I've noticed that with this game in particular, sound effects when navigating the menu and in-game voice lines jump from right to left to center, seemingly at random.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, and if so, has anyone found a fix?

I have had this issue or similar with sound volume becoming louder than it should be for the same effect. I also have this same problem on my Nintendo Switch version of the game. I think it's been there since the beginning not sure if it's ever been addressed. I would like a fix for it too.
