MP games in general could benefit from cross-play. Game population declines over time, and with every version separate that just makes the community even smaller.

Not sure if that's the case, but that means there no excuse for companies like Bungie, Activision, Blizzard, EA, etc. couldn't do it. Epic doesn't really make any more money than they do.

Activision already caved. MW is cross-platform between all systems its on.

In this day of age, it really baffles me why CPP is still not a thing from developers when Microsoft and other console manufacturers themselves have said they have nothing against titles supporting CCP in online play. There isn't any excuse anymore especially for fighting games when fragmentation between players have been a long standing issue when in it comes to unifying an online ranking and matchmaking system.

Sadly the main enemy in most of this is sony since they seem to really not like doing crossplay which is dumb imo.
