Report a translation problem
I'd personally say though that the biggest problem is that there's too many of both types (also by the way of the later eye/lightbeam ones, but those are at least easy to the point of being solved by just clicking around a few times until it works -- even if they are due to same also uninteresting.)
The pipe/gear and to lesser degree sewing ones started to actively annoy me to the point of not wanting to invest more effort; I a few times quit out of the game to go do something else for a bit upon again seeing one present itself. The water pouring ones in chapter 5 are I feel more enjoyable due to being integrated in the actual game world, but even of those 5 I could've done with 1 or 2 fewer. Rest of the one-off puzzles are fine, and I feel these would also have been, had there just not been too many of them.
Still, enjoyable game...
But if you really need it, look at the guides. There are several "Walkthrough"-guides.
Don´t give up. The later game is really... good.
