The 13th Doll: A Fan Game of The 7th Guest

The 13th Doll: A Fan Game of The 7th Guest

Three-In-A-Row.
I was doing surprisingly well compared to the 7th Guest and 11th Hour, but the 3 in a row game has me stumped. I always seem to reach a lost position, but I'm not sure how to avoid it. There is simply too many possible moves to plan ahead. Has anyone got any tips on how to get past this puzzle?

The hints provided didn't help much.

This is the new microscope puzzle. Maybe it will be easier if I play on a slower computer haha
Seems to be a set path the pc will take everytime, if you take those squares it changes the path, but going first has a serious disadvantage, guess we need to find which squares in order to take to force the PC to lose. Easier said than done.

EDIT: I think instead of a 7x7 grid an 8x8 grid would have given more options to be at least solvable in many ways, at the moment it seems who ever goes 2nd will win.

I just beat it. You have to start with the middle position and then mimic the moves that the computer does.

We had to have some kind of AI puzzles in the game. Wouldn't be The 7th Guest if there wasn't, would it?

oh yes, quite true. It's still gentle compared to the microscope puzzle

You basically need to destroy the entire board as fast as possible. You'll have her pinned on your fifth move, or not at all.

Thankfully, she plays the same way, so she doesn't strategically hold back on her fourth turn, so as long as you're playing to make as many squares unusable as possible, you'll get the upper hand eventually.

The best first move is the center tile.

Ed, one of our game testers, posted an entire walkthrough of the game, including puzzle solutions, endings, and achievements. You can find it in the Guides section of the community here on Steam.
