I did not check if it would show up in plots I have not dug in yet, but it seems it will not show up in plots that some digging has been done on. I also noticed when I got the helmet no ore vains were showing up in the plots I had worked before the update but they did show up in plots I hadn't worked.

Icehelm is generally where I build my second Mine. I first dig out the bottom of Icehelm. This must be done using a Pickaxe and/or Rake, as there's no way to get a Mole into Icehelm. I start clearing the Front area near the Water and the front area near the Delivery Point. I then work my way around the back of Tier 2 Dirt to link up the two front areas, and install a Conveyor setup all the way around. I set up my Harvester/Sorter/Smelter/Gem Compressor area on the front right side from the entry point. Once my Icehelm Claim is producing enough Cloutium, I build T2 Miners and install them along the length of the Conveyors at the back of Claim, as close as I can to the T3 Dirt, lining both sides with T2 Miners. Eventually, when I move to building T3 Miners, I dig that space out and install as many T3 Miners as I can and save up the excess T3 Miners for installation at the bottom of the NEXT Claim that I move to (now-a-days, that'll be Dreck Quarry - DQ). Once I can afford a Mole (needs to be purchased with Prospector Tokens), I purchase that, purchase Dreck Quarry, and use the Mole to dig a ramp down to the bottom of DQ. I use the Mole to dig out the bottom of DQ, figure out where my Water Supply will come in, and run a Pipe for the Conveyors around the outside edge of DQ. I start to install my T3 Miners from the END of the Conveyor run and work my way backwards to where the Water Supply enters the Claim. I install those T3 Miners in sets of about 1 to 1.5 dozen T3 Miners at a time, as the quantity of Corestone and Coutium increases, to where it tops out around 120 to 150 Miners (that's about the capacity of Dirt on Conveyors, that my computer can handle)...
