Are you hand mining or using a T2 Miner? When I started a new Save, after v2.2 came out, I found a few pieces of Corestone in some of my first scoops of Dirt at Ember Cradle...

T2 miner

If you're running your T2 Miners on the surface, you won't find Corestone Ore, per another post from the Dev's. Hand mining the surface may get SOME Corestone, but you'll need to place T2 Miners at least a grid square or two below the surface to get Corestone (probably better to be on T2 Dirt, which means not at Ember Cradle).

i have it on t2 dirt

Can't help you, then. Per the Dev's, Miners should get SOME Corestone so long as they're not mining on the surface. You'll need to wait for a Dev to respond, and they've been quite active in these Discussions since the release of v2.2.

Just keep running it. Sounds like you've met the criteria just got unlucky. It is in the game I've gotten it.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue too... I put my T2 drills down as far as they can go (one up from just not working) and I have yet to find a single rock of corestone... I have found about 9 nuggets with the shovel though.

I have a save from before the update and was not getting any, I started a new game and started finding it right away. It seems more common than cloutium, which also seems more common after the update.

I did not check if it would show up in plots I have not dug in yet, but it seems it will not show up in plots that some digging has been done on. I also noticed when I got the helmet no ore vains were showing up in the plots I had worked before the update but they did show up in plots I hadn't worked.

I'm using an old save works fine. My issue is everything is clogging up since yesterday. It may be player specific what issues are occurring.
Also found this post so it might help you:

I'm setting up a mining assembly in icehelm, and I hope that's enough to get a bit of corestone.

Remember, with the Icehelm Claim, Dirt Tiers go INTO the wall, not vertically downward. Therefore, the Dirt closest to the front edge is Tier 1 and Tier 2 Dirt starts behind it, further from the front edge. Tier 2 wraps around behind the vertical support shaft that one cannot dig into, but can dig around. All the way at the back is Tier 3. There is enough vertical height to support 2 levels of Mining equipment, if one's computer can support that many simultaneous Miners and Conveyors with Dirt moving on them.

Icehelm is generally where I build my second Mine. I first dig out the bottom of Icehelm. This must be done using a Pickaxe and/or Rake, as there's no way to get a Mole into Icehelm. I start clearing the Front area near the Water and the front area near the Delivery Point. I then work my way around the back of Tier 2 Dirt to link up the two front areas, and install a Conveyor setup all the way around. I set up my Harvester/Sorter/Smelter/Gem Compressor area on the front right side from the entry point. Once my Icehelm Claim is producing enough Cloutium, I build T2 Miners and install them along the length of the Conveyors at the back of Claim, as close as I can to the T3 Dirt, lining both sides with T2 Miners. Eventually, when I move to building T3 Miners, I dig that space out and install as many T3 Miners as I can and save up the excess T3 Miners for installation at the bottom of the NEXT Claim that I move to (now-a-days, that'll be Dreck Quarry - DQ). Once I can afford a Mole (needs to be purchased with Prospector Tokens), I purchase that, purchase Dreck Quarry, and use the Mole to dig a ramp down to the bottom of DQ. I use the Mole to dig out the bottom of DQ, figure out where my Water Supply will come in, and run a Pipe for the Conveyors around the outside edge of DQ. I start to install my T3 Miners from the END of the Conveyor run and work my way backwards to where the Water Supply enters the Claim. I install those T3 Miners in sets of about 1 to 1.5 dozen T3 Miners at a time, as the quantity of Corestone and Coutium increases, to where it tops out around 120 to 150 Miners (that's about the capacity of Dirt on Conveyors, that my computer can handle)...
