So how about a real answer to this issue I bought?
I assume that it's not an easy or quick bug to fix - the game will have to make a lot of assumptions about when it can stop running physics for any given item or the game performance would be measured in seconds per frame once you had any sort of automation running. The dev has given you the only practical workaround you can use for at least time time being.
Now excuse me while I clean up the ore explosion that happened when I used a magnet to try to clean up the ore stuck in my hand sorter.
Firstly, have some respect - there's literally no need for that.
This post was from a year ago, almost to the day. There have been numerous tweaks and fixes to the Hand Sorter - but given the name it's for sorting items by hand, not hundreds / thousands of resources being dropped in at once. (Edit for clarity.. It should also not be used in automation / with conveyors - "hand" sorter.)
By the time you're able to fill a pan with so many resources, it's time to upgrade to belts and in turn conveyor splitters. This is the natural progression of the game.
