How do you merge ores?
Trying to complete 2 quests that each requires 1.5 weight worth of iron ore. How do you merge ore without turning them into bars?

You can't, however if you dig deeper you'll get better resources
Get T2 dirt, and the nuggets are significantly bigger

The rewards for the quest aren't much but is its ironic that they require a cloutium miner to extract
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I agree, the game doesnt really represent this whole concept of dirt layers too well. Neither does it emphesise enough that you need to dig as deep as you can for better results. So new players tend to just build on the surface.

However i noticed that NPC's now actually tell you to go deeper, and also there is a tutorial with a simple miner setup which also shows that you can build underground. So it gets better, i think.

The Jeweler literally tells you, you get better ore the deeper you dig.

The scale has rounding errors. Sometimes adding two ores 2.5 and 2.5 can give 4.99 on the scale.

True but that could've easily just meant rarer ore types
