soup making is so confusing
I have been reading and watching videos and read redit...

I have been chopping and re-chopping and splitting tomatoes for 40 mins try to get "6.5" weight. Impossible number to get. I have only have one single success at making a soup. I keep getting rejected over and over again.
Some people point out the scale numbers price and weight. I follow the weight. Still they throw it back at me. I have wasted 1300 coins on soup nobody wants and could only recover about 90 coins selling the waste to the grocer.
There are so many posts explaining it over and over again and videos and following them is not working. What gives?

Redit users said to ignore weight and go with number of veggies.

Was there a patch at some point I am not aware of that is messing me up?

The answer is here in the discussions but to put it quickly, just round up to an even number, the NPC.s dont care if you give them more, they just dont like it if it comes up short.

Get some scales, put a pan on the scales, just keep throwing veg in there until you're above the target weight. You can be 10x above the request weight, it doesn't matter as long as it's at least as much as requested.

Later on you can get fancy and use veg stackers plus a logic saw to get precise amounts with less effort, but until then it's not even close to worth the effort trying to get weights dead on.

The logic saw also cuts veggies, you can set up a whole automated system. And always round up on your numbers.

You're combining the cut veg outside of the soup pot, right? Cause you can drop the veg piles onto each other to stack them like coins do.

Also, why did it take you forty minutes to chop 6.5 pounds of tomato? Are you growing them one plants at a time?

It took that long because of the random weights. I was trying to hit exact by combining and dividing be 2 when I cut the piles in half. I was confused by all the different posts about how the soups were supposed to work. So combine grabbed my calculator and did the math and I was over or under. never on the mark. I would always get close but not close enough for people to eat them except once. Very annoying... But now I understand it better.
