How do you know the weight of something?

I saw a quest from an NPC for getting 1.5 weight of gold ore. How do I even know if a gold ore nugget weighs enough for the quest?

You can buy a scale from many smiths, for example the one in Bridgeport.

Yep, the Shop in Bridgepour that carries the Gem Compressors, Smelters, and Cloutium Pipes has a Scale. It must be placed on a level surface and the Raw Nugget, Ore Bar, Raw Gem, or Polished Gem at least held over the Plate (better to place it on the Plate). You'll see two numbers on the front of the display. The number closest to the top of the Scale is the value in Hydrocoins, while the number closest to the bottom of the Scale is the Weight. That lower number MUST BE either EQUAL TO or HIGHER THAN the number of the request.

Therefore, a request for a 1.5 Weight Nugget will be satisfied by a Scale Weight of 1.5 or higher, but WILL NOT be satisfied by a 1.48 Weight Nugget.
