Images would be helpful in narrowing down the issue
GrandmaMax how do you get water in the DLC i should have said that in the 1st place
On the volcano island you need an ice melter, a splitter to guide ice into the top of the ice melter and pipe up from that to the belts. Its best to have a drill on the surface to begin with to get enough ice that way, for more help please read this guide as it helps a lot explaining the changes you need to know about:

Also, don't use the ORIGINAL Drill one receives on Volcalidus for the Ice Melter. It comes damaged. You either need to buy one from the Tier 1 Shop that you build in New Glade, or a brand new Lava Drill you build yourself at the top of the Volcano. Those Lava Drills should be undamaged. Damaged Drills cannot feed the Ice Melter fast enough. An undamaged Lava Drill placed on the surface should ONLY get Ice and deliver enough to the Ice Melter to continue to operate the Conveyors. Just do not forget to place Pressure Tanks along your Conveyor run to keep the pressure up. Higher water pressure will mean faster and more smoothly running Conveyors.

Pretty sure I never once said use a splitter. Splitting to the ice melter is a dumb move. Just use a dedicated drill on the surface to feed it.

If one has the Drill at or above the surface, the Drill will ONLY produce Ice, so no splitter is needed. If one decides to design their Mine with the Ice Melter well below ground, then the Drill will produce both Ice and Rocks. Rocks will clog the Ice Melter and make it useless until cleared, so a Splitter is used to spin the Rocks off to the Harvester and the Ice continues to the Ice Melter.

Is design easier with the Ice Melter and the Drill(s) that serve it above ground, yes. Does everyone think ahead when building their first Mine in the DLC, not necessarily. It all comes down to how things get implemented...
I stand by what I said. It's not only inefficient, but it's also prone to crashing your game
