Please help, I placed the anvil on the ground through the placement grid, on the anvil I chose the recipe for a ring, I inserted the required ingredients according to the recipe, namely a gold brick and a polished stone. I took the hammer for forging and it simply does not want to forge anything on the anvil. I don't use any mods.

It can be tricky someetimes, I've found that if the bars are not fully in their spots it doesnt always seem to work, also like the dev said, make sure to heat the bar.

My final comment is to make certain that all Bars of Ore and Gems are in their correct slot. If you look at the diagram on the top of the Anvil, once it's selected, there will be numbers and icons on the slots. The Gem MUST go in the Gem Slot and does NOT need to be heated. Then, if one is fulfilling a Scroll, the order of the Ore List must be followed with the Ore listed at the top being placed in the #1 Slot of the Anvil, etc.

Basically, a Gold/Iron/Sapphire Necklace does not equal an Iron/Gold/Sapphire Necklace...
