what is the veg stacker for?
it holds stacked veggies and requires water but on a wiki for this game it says it takes damage and it can still hold veggies just fine without water....does it do anything else? and if giving it water has no added benefit what is the purpose of it? i can just use a pan or a basket to do the same job..so i ask again...what is it for?

I'm not surprised about the seeds, they are already in packs and it just makes it easier to collect them before I move them to seed boxes but the raw veggies don't seem to have a problem stacking without the water connection. Might make a difference if the throughput was higher, don't know, I was never in a big hurry so it all works on iron pipe.

The Wiki can contain out of date data, as I believe it was created before v2.0 came out in 2022. You should check the date on the Wiki page to see when it was last updated... Anything from before the spring of 2022 probably comes from v1.x. The game was completely rewritten for v2.0, and there were a lot of updates across the v2.x versions. When the DLC came up, a large update was done to the original game to fix a number of bugs. The version then updated to v3.x.

Due to these various changes, ALL MOD's from v1.x cannot be used in v2.0 or higher and will actually cause the game to not start. ALL MOD's from v2.x needed to be rewritted for v3.x in order to work. Most v2.x MOD's would do nothing in a v3.x game, but it's possible that they would introduce unwanted "side effects" as the MOD would be invalid...

No, it needs water. Just feed it off your filtered main line. It stacks one kind of veggies per unit. So to store them out of the way.

I went a little overboard on one of my playthroughs with small scale farming. I used the stackers for seed storage as well as veggie stacking .

This is at the starter property. Growing this much at a time drags my FPS down to about 25 but was fun anyway.

ok but it still does its job without water...i can just...drop it inside....is there something here im missing? cause it stores a single stack of an item just as well as...literally anything else...including just..a pile on the ground of cut veggies

Hook water to it to just drop off the veggies and have a system automated. Makes it much easier. Auto chop and sort to storage units.

Well, it does make collecting a bunch of cut veggies easier than letting them fall into a basket or pan, or picking them up off the ground when your'e doing a lot of growing. I just did what I did because it was fun to build it and see it work. (:
