Anyone know anything about Onyx?

Had a T1 drill on T1 soil for a short while and got 1 bit of Onyx. 2 hours of T2 drill on T2 so far and not a single bit of Onyx. Is it only in T1? is it super mega rare and i got lucky?

i think you need to be on the very bottom of a plot, as deep as possible, while still having the drill on "diggable" dirt. have 2 T1 harvesters and gotten quite a few of them now

the wiki says onyx is 0.4% drop chance, i have had them while having t1 drill near the surface so its just rare

its just an RNG chance, in my experience soil types dont change much for drop rate they would just lead to larger gems, not more of them.

yeah i seem to be averaging 1 nugget per hour right now from one T2 drill.
