Compressor not working

I started playing this game today (Love it) and i noticed that my compressor isn't working. It is connected to water source, there are gems inside but i cant pull the lever. What button do i need to press to make it work or am i missing something???

Are you using a cloutium pipe? Doesn't work for me. I had to add an iron one between the cloutium setup and the compressor. Seems like a bug.

Mine's working with an iron pipe split off a cloutium pipe (the connector on the compressor is cloutium coloured) and it also works if there's other things in there. just has to be at least 1 polished gem,
Most likely a water pressure issue, have you put a pressure reader hook on the input pipe? or at least pull the compressor out of the way to see if there's a water drip from the pipe at least?

Just swapped for all cloutium pipes and that works too

this may be an older post yet some times the pipes them self stop working pull compressor out from pipe check that you have a water drip

Ran into the same issue today, treid everyting but it didn't work out.
Solution was: Build up everything, save the game, restart - and the compressor worked like it should.
Hope this works out for other players too.
