You get 1 Drill and 1 harvester in the beginning location. All additional have to be bought.
But with the beginning ones you can already create a fully automated setup.

So it actually is a little more beginnerfriendly to previous versions because you have the machines for cheaper from very early on. All you need to do is basically wait while the automated setup is running. A setup that in itself can be expanded and upgraded multiple times (an if you just use the gold for selling and keep the iron all the time, then you will soon - when you have completed your automatic setup with only 1 of each drill/harvester - be able to craft new drills and harvesters.

yhea except that you cant buy drills anymore it seems. so yhea got the drill and harvester from the beginning. I wanted to increase my outcome so i looked where to find a new drill. informations in the internet show you can buy it. but not anymore.

So im in icehelm right now try to figure out how crafting works. bought the stample. put iron in. learning endgamemechanic after 4h ingame. nice. its not that hard to nderstand but i think its a little bit to early

I can't seem to use that one drill in anywhere except the starting area. Is this intentional? It just clanks idly whenever I set it up anywhere else.

The wiki is less than useless, it's broken and misleading. The cached preview text in Google gives more help than the wiki, and the 2.0 changes are WAY
WAY
WAY more sweeping than the notes suggest. It's an entirely new game, nobody's talking about it, and there's no information absolutely anywhere.
I should have refunded...but here I am.

Have you bought the other claims where you try to set that drill?

If you have bought the parcel you could be trying to use the drill below the tier 1 depth. This will result in the symptom you are experiencing.

Most players new to the game, not just the update, are going to manually be digging, then maybe figure out the pipes and pump water into the pans without running around to dunk each one, then dabble around with the starter machines, and THEN maybe explore around and research the other areas. It's the players already used to the previous version (or people who have only watched videos from it) that are struggling the most with the changes.

I got the game a few days before 2.0 (no idea it was coming) I was just at the point of filling pans with water from pipes when 2.0 dropped. It broke the wiki and I was having a horrible time understanding what was causing somethings to fail to work. Youtube videos showed incorrect methods, and I've been running over bugs and UI issues every game session with an attitude of "Oh well, its a cheap indy game what did you expect" and its not that bad.

but this is still a pretty bad way to drop such a huge list of changes. The wiki should have been updated in advance, for example, given how it's coded into the ui and central for understanding items and interactions.

i searched around 3hours for the sorter i saw in an "updated video from one month ago"....

the developer himself told me thats now another item availabe in the store complete diferent looking with complete diferen mechanic. before the sorter hat a knob to switch to tell what to sort out like gold or iron. now its more like the handsorter from near the start where you have to put a nugget on the top which should sort out

all the infos are outdated. as you mention wiki vids on yt for sure
