Abandoned Mines great for fulfilling Scroll Requests
I had someone say that restoring Abandoned Mines wasn't worth the Ore or the effort, but I have to disagree with that. They are massively GREAT for fulfilling Scrolls for Raw Ore Nuggets.

Once the Mine is rebuilt, one is presented with the following Control Panel:

The switch to the far left determines which of the two available Ores will be provided (I believe this is randomly determined either when the Volcalidus Island is created - first arrival - or it is determined when the Mine is restored. As you can see, for THIS Abandoned Mine, it'll produce either Raw Iron Nuggets or Raw Gold Nuggets. The WEIGHT of the nugget is determined based on how long it has been, game time, since the last nugget was produced. The longer you wait, the bigger the Nugget. Here's a nugget that I created just before taking this screenshot:

This was a 251 Weight Iron Nugget. I can then use the Logic Saw to separate it into smaller chunks to satisfy requests for 4.5 Weight Raw Iron Nuggets, etc... Additionally, when one changes the switch to the other nugget, it'll produce a Raw Nugget of the type switch away from, again the size being determined by the game time since the last nugget was produced. So, if I've JUST arrived back at this Restored Abandoned Mine after being away for a while and it's pointing at Iron, and I switch it to Gold, it'll produce a LARGE Raw Iron Nugget, but an immediate switch back to Iron, from Gold, will produce a small Raw Gold Nugget. If I leave when it's pointing at Gold and come back after a while, the Gold Nugget produced will be quite large...

Each of the 3 Abandoned Mines you rebuild does different ores. The more that one does iron/gold the next is shards/hard rock then the last is cloutium/corestone. It is not random. Each higher one takes more materials to build though.

Understood, but it's still great for building a few Massive Nuggets of each Ore and being able to "shave off" the correct size Nugget (rounded up), to fulfill all those Scrolls requesting 3.5+ Weight Ore Nuggets... As there's no way to MERGE Ore Nuggets and 3.5+ Weight Nuggets are Tier 3 Weight...
