Unfiltered Vocalidus Feedback
Have been keeping a list of feedback points and notes while playing through the DLC. It's not super well edited or categorized, but I know this type of feedback can be useful to a dev team:

Earlygame:
  • The constant bright white is a bit eye straining
  • The drop indicator does not show well against the snow
  • Start felt slow, I was puzzled for a while how to get ahold of a pick to get down to the more valuable dirt in a fast way. It ended up pushing me to setup a lava pipe directly into a pan and manually dig out the working area for the first set of drills
  • Enjoyed the Hydrosaur collection minigame
  • Liking the idea of the placeable shops in New Glade, but I wish we could rearrange them and even get them to setup stalls near the dig sites
  • I really like the new lava/water mechanics. Filtering resource types before processing is a nice change, and got me to setup my mines differently than I previously have. It's a great addition and adds an appropriate amount of complexity.
    • Post-note: Apparently there's an easier way to do this that just involves having a surface-level drill producing ONLY Ice and no Icestone. Ah well.
  • The rake is fantastic. Massively helps my constant desire for smooth surfaces and overall makes setting up pipes way easier
  • I found the skull icons on the "Item Buffs" very confusing. Without an easily comparable item *without* those icons, I couldn't tell what they meant. It wasn't until I unlocked the Tier 1 store and bought/tested the drill from there that I figured it out.
  • Could the pallets have the same sort of item clipping as the truck? It's very hard to stack items onto a pallet for moving around locally, but very easy with a truck

Mid-game:
  • There are so many object variations that are just slightly varied objects. Most of my trips to the stores have been because I ran out of 1 specific variation of an object. For example: I have 6 Right Turn conveyors and 14 Straight Conveyors on my dig site, but I need to make a Left Turn. So I have to go to the store to buy 1 Left Turn Conveyor. It's frustrating.
  • Pipes/wires and building pieces have the same variation problem. It would be nice if there was some kind of configuration tool that I could use to switch objects between their different variations. ie I buy 20 Straight Conveyors from the shop, then on my dig site I can use the configuration tool to shift them between Straight, Turn Left, Turn Right, or Slope.
  • omg when I finally made it to Mot's Island and saw the big transport truck my jaw dropped and I think I may have fallen in love. Get that road-based diesel-electric locomotive chugga chugga choo chooing!

End-game:
  • Trying to scrap any of the large objects that HAVE to be carried by the Lava Hauler is a massive PITA. The scrapping zone is not hauler-accessible
  • I wish I could store small items on the Lava Hauler's upper/piloting platform. Stuff like lava buckets to do on-the-road refueling
    • This section was a journey of discovery. Enjoy
    • Buying/loading items directly into the truck on the sell pad = great
    • The conveyor and logic stores are constructed with their sell pads in corners so that you can't stand in the bed of the the truck and rapid grab - you have to run around a bunch.
Would be a nice QoL improvement if we could reach and pick up the stock from the bed of the truck.
    • Followup - Just learned that if *any part* of the truck is touching the sell pad, then all unbought items in the truck's bed can be purchased. Okay, that helps a lot.
    • I just discovered that Lava Trucks are the game's shopping trolly. Hear me out: They cost 550 coins (compared to a pallet's 450), can hold basically infinite items (provided the FPS accomodates), and they are decently maneuverable around digsites. Plus, since you can buy multiple (save/reload to repopulate shop) you don't have to unload them - you can just load them up once at the shop then leave them loaded and pull the needed items directly from them. I now have one lava truck that holds my building pieces, one for pipes, one for conveyors, etc.
  • I dislike the obfuscated Forge Mark buff system. Not because of the randomness of it, or because you can't control the result, but because it is cheeseable and the optimal way to interact with it is to abuse save scumming.
    • A suggestion: I wish it was an incremental upgrade once you had an item - so you take your drill to some forge variant and it imbues the forge marks into the items and the change depends on the forge mark's stats. That way you would still need to collect and look for good Forge Marks, but there's significantly less incentive to save scum.
  • The repairable automines around the map are cool but fell flat at the finish line: I liked stumbling onto them and going "huh, I wonder what this does" and later coming back with resources. It was a bit of a letdown that they simply passively produce ore, but can't be automated. In their current form, I only use them to produce ore to turn in for quests.

Two things: you can change the drop indicator color in the settings, and you car buy pull carts at burrville and shattered outpost that have the same clipping/no collision as the truck beds.
