Can't figure out how to smelt bars to an exact weight.
I have a 44 and cut a 1 into .5.
They've been sitting in the fire bowl thing for at least 15 minutes. Still solid.
????

Always round up on your weight. Don't worry about the .5 or whatever. Always go to next highest number. Second, you have them in a cauldron on the fire and not melting?? That is odd.

At least one other person reported issues with the Crucible, but it turned out to be user error. If you're trying to turn Hardstone into "Bars", you need to use the Hardstone Crusher, not the Crucible and Furnace. It doesn't melt. The Crucible/Furnace/Bar Form are for Gold, Iron, Corestone, Cloutium, and Shards (Corestone and Cloutium don't seem to be on Volcalidus)...

I have gotten Cloutium, in fact the ticket office required a 10 cloutium bar to build it. Corestone as well.

Best thing to do with cutting up bars is to use a conveyor belt, with a logic cutter on (looks a bit like a big helmet). Put a number pad on it and specify the weight you want and let any resource, gem or smelted bar go through and it will spit out that item at the exact weight you want and the remainder carries on on the belt.
I tend to get a load of commissions at once and put the resources through a row of 3 of them so I get the right size parts for each resource type.
You do, however, need to get to a stage of conveyors working first though to do all that.

Yeah cutter is the way, have a T -shaped line from your belt, with just 3 straight belt tiles, cutter in the middle and here you go :) cutting line.

My guess is if you want an exact weight, you have to use a logic counter for liquid attached to a logic smelter. In my experience though logic smelters are more of a headache to deal with than they're worth so I'd just eat the cost of extra weight items. A slight loss of material shouldn't matter when you can mine tons.

You can cut bars as well as gems. You'll get the cut and toss the rest into the smelter :). Rinse and repeat

You can also cut vegetables with it. This saw is worth every penny :)
