Cant get dlc drills to start.
Yes, it's hooked up. Yes, I hit the lever. Yes, there's "dirt" under it.

if its got ice under the drill and its hooked up to lava it should start spitting a bit of ice as soon as you throw the switch on the front. if its not working try moving the snow a bit

if your water is too far from the drill it may lack pressure to run. if you have a pressure booster but don't have a fuel bar in it then nothing will run. also the drill might be damaged try using a repair box on it. Finally forgive me for asking but is the drill turned on?

Otherwise it might be bugged.

I'm having the same exact issue. The drills worked for me at Dawns Rest but dont work now in Waterside.

It seems you can have "Too Much" Dirt Under them. Remove the dirt until there is a small amount

That was the first thing I did. Didn't work then either

One thing I've noticed is that the sparks to show somethings broken don't always seem to show in the DLC. Get a magnifying glass from the shop with the lava pipes and check the drill isn't at 0.
I had some trouble myself with a drill and it was only after picking it up and back down again did the sparks start showing to show it was broken.
It might just be me but it feels like the lava is breaking equipment/filters quicker than the water did in the main game.

Confirmed that the pipes had lava flowing, the pressure was being boosted, and the drills are at 100% health.

Is maybe the pipe under it the issue? Wouldn't be a problem on the main island, but mabe the lava drills act differently? At least i haven't tried to stack them yet.

It's possible, but it was the first drill on the new area, freshly purchased, so it should be at 100%

You sure your pipe drips lava? Just asking, cuz on your first screenshot your intake is jammed halfway into the ground. And what about the harvester, does it work in this setup you have?

Also, not to criticise the build or anything, but maybe its because you technically have a pipe right under the drill. Granted its covered with snow but it could be an issue, try pulling it out and see if it helps.

Checked both before posting the thread.

Well at this point i would just make an error-free test. Place the drill naturally on the fresh unmodified snow, hook it up and see if it works that way.

I recall in vanilla in 2.0 patch some folks were complaining about that single drill you get to purchase in the begining. It sometimes (very rarely) came broken like that, didnt work. And there was no way to purchase another one, except much later with the forge. So maybe that old bug is back.

However, since its super early game, there is always an option to just start over. Its probably faster to progress back to the same stage instead of wasting more time trying to figure it out.
