Drop items/buckets without turning
How can I drop down for example a bucket without that bucket rotates sideways or upside down.
It's really annoying that I have to pick up and drop a bucket so I can fill it with something.
I know the 'best' option is on a flat surface, but on a groundside area it's not really usefull.

If you press and HOLD the E key, it goes into PLACE mode. From there, you can use the R, T, and Y keys to rotate the object so that it's placed in the proper orientation.

Let me know if you need any more details, or if this is sufficient.

It's for a bucket.
The place mode is used to place objects like pipes, machines, anvils etc.
For a bucket that I use every time it's not a good way to drop a bucket.

No, apparently you can hold the key down to place things like buckets. You don't just have to drop them. (I've never actually tried, but thats what the Internet says). Also, if you just want to fill a bucket with dirt, it doesn't need to be sitting up properly. You can fill a bucket with dirt even if it is on its side.

For those coming in late via google (like me), the long-press E gets you a sort of third person view of the ITEM you're holding. So instead of hovering above your shoulder it's not in front of you.
Makes dropping things easier, but the bucket still is awkward to use.

after holding E you can use R & T to rotate things you are holding. You can nearly everything move by holding E, even your cart.
Best thing i do to place item properly is to place a concreteblock underneath it. it is even possible to place obejcts underground.

Hope that helps
