Machine Damage
I have really enjoyed this game so far. However, I really wish when machines and filters need repaired that they did not stop completely, but maybe just process and move more slowly. Every time I leave to do something else and come back my process line is stopped. I also enjoy playing this while doing other things like watching Twitch or YouTube. I look away for 10 minutes and everything is broke. For a casual game this is becoming a bit of a killer for me.

Use an auto repair logic circuit something like this:

They are simple to make and once you stock the spanner throwers with spanners you can go several real time hours before anything breaks.

You can build an automated Repair Circuit, one for each Filter. If you have 5 Filters located immediately after the Intake Pipe, then none of the equipment in the Mine that gets its water from that supply line will take ANY damage, only the filters. The Repair Circuitry will keep those Filters fully operational so long as the Wrench Thrower are kept supplied with Wrenches. Each Wrench Thrower can hold up to 20 Wrenches at a time, so it'll take a while before any Wrench Thrower runs out. The Water Filter closest to the Intake Pipe will use Wrenches the fastest as it'll take the most damage. As more Filters get between the Intake Pipe and the 5th Water Filter, the rate of usage will go down (makes logical sense).

With the way I build my Repair Logic, each Circuit takes 3 Elbow Cables, either 3 or 5 Straight Cables, 1 Flip Switch, 1 Logic Reader, and 1 Wrench Thrower. Each Wrench Thrower can hold up to 4 Repair Kits.

If you have further questions or need pictures, let us know.

I've had issues with the Wrench Throwers pointed in from the side. They tend to throw ALL the Wrenches at once but not repair the damaged Filter (I watched and the Wrenched just dropped onto the ground). I always place the Wrench Thrower on top and the Logic Reader pointing from the side...

I never had such issues and i built that circuit on several different saves.
Perhaps you installed something wrong or forgot the Flip hook cause that causes all the spanners to be launched.

Hybridsteel also covered this exact circuit from what i recall.
It's working as intended if you build it right.

And yep he also mentions how to set this up so you don't waste all spanners at once in one go.

I believe it is the filter that must be on the wrench thrower side, the reader can read all sides of the pipe, but the wrench thrower can only repair one side of the pipe.

Yes, filter must be on the side with the spanner thrower. With this machines stay at 100% with 5 filters and can go 24/7

I've built my circuit across several saves, and I had the Flip Hook installed. When I watched it dump ALL it's Wrenches and had it pointed from the Side, ALL I did was swap the Logic Detector and the Wrench Thrower. After restocking the Wrench Thrower, it worked perfectly fine. I install my Filters on TOP of the Pipe, so maybe that's why, but it works as I have it and I haven't had success the other way... "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it."....

Yep that was most likely the problem.
With this exact setup i and Hybridsteel used filters need to be on the side where the wrench throwers are pointing.

Or else it won't work properly.
If you do it correctly there are no issues with this exact circuit.

I guess that means that this circuit will not work for people who place Water Filters on all four sides of the Pipe... :steammocking: :steamsad:

Yep tho honestly why would you?
Did the devs fix the filters to work in tandem when putting 4 filters on all sides of same pipe?

Cause last i checked all 4 filters drain durability at same time but only filter the water once if they are put on same pipe on all sides (as if you only had one filter working)

While putting 5 filters in a row progressivley filters the water to max 100% and the filters degrade at different speeds saving on repairs.

Plus Wrench Throwers can only cover one side.
So not sure how you would even make a working repair circut for all 4 filters on all sides of a single pipe piece without help of mods :P

4 filters on one pipe segment worked fine for me, it just seems to arbitrarily pick which one is "first" and that gets the most damage, and so on. But yeah, kind of redundant once you get to automating it.

Maybe some weird bug on my end then but yea still it's more repair efficient to make a row of filters on one side and row actually makes it possible to build a simple repair circuit.

I'd agree with this. Filters on 4 side means either one cannot be automated to repair or there would be no way to detect if there was an issue...
