I beg to differ.
It can still level the ground on its own so it's not "useless without pickaxe or shovel"
I mean, yeah, you can prepare a spot to plant your crops. But for every serious work, you need a Shovel or the Pickaxe, before the Rake comes into play.
So yea it is not useless on it's own it has uses tho limited.
Err .. actually you can. You can level the entire SH with nothing but a rake. I did it, and i posted the method in a different topic, just recently. You can remove full cubes of dirt and resore full cubes of dirt with vanilla rake no problem. It takes a bit of getting used to, but its way faster than switchin to a pickaxe.
The only exception when you can not restore a cube is when its completely empty. Which i dont think i have ever encountered on a "natural" terrain. But for example if you made a mistake and removed a cube instead of restoring it, and now you have an empty cube to deal with, thats when you gonna need a shovel to help. otherwise you dont need other tools to level out SH, or any digsite for that matter.
