Are mods broken in this version?
I forced myself to get back into this game and update to 2.0 (or whatever the latest is) because I saw some mods that sort of bring back the good 1.7 version. I just liked that version better, just a me thing. I downloaded a number of mods, including the HML mod. When I click the mods button in the game opening menu, nothing shows up in either the "Popular Mods" option or the "Installed Mods" option. I don't have my Steam games in the normal Program Files (x86) folder, I moved them all to a separate drive through the steam option to do that. I thought maybe something wasn't linking to the proper workshop folder. I did try the mklink option in command but that didn't help. Steam downloaded the mods to the correct folder in my drive but something isn't making that connection to see them and I can't figure out what. If the mods showed up in the "Popular Mods" section but not my "Installed Mods" section, I would certainly think that is something on my end. But the fact that section is empty too, makes me a bit more curious, if they are even related. It could very well be two different issues and I wouldn't know it. Any ideas?

All the mods do currently work, any broken ones are removed from the workshop (which has not been any in a long time)
It's worth noting that you can still play the 1.7 version of the game via a steam beta branch. You can accessing it by right clicking Hydroneer in your library and going into the properties tab.

The issue might be due to your install location, but Hydroneer generally searches in its root install location to find mods. Try reinstalling the game instead of moving it post-launch. I'm not sure what is causing this issue exactly as I haven't heard of any reports of similar problems. Hope that is somewhat helpful

I see you have also left Hydroneer a negative review. Now some time has passed since 2.0's launch, it might be a good time to revisit it and play it without mods. We also have a major update Friday, which adds lots of new stuff. If you do end up checking it out, please consider updating your review. Thanks :)

Figured it out. Thanks. I am running TrueNAS as a VM on my server (along with a few other VMs), which is where my Steam Library folder is that I mapped to my PC. I believe it is a permissions issue. I'll fiddle with that some day, but not today. I moved Hydroneer to the C:Program Files (x86) folder and it works now. Even the "Popular Mods" option is working which is odd to me. Unless it relates to the permissions issue because it is altering what is in the folder? Not sure how you have that set up but it isn't really a big deal if that doesn't work since i can just look in the workshop on steam. I have 3 1TB drives on the PC, so I can always just move it to another drive physically within my PC if I need the room, rather then a network drive. I'm going to have to see if any of the other moddable games are broken now. So it's definitely not a Hydroneer issue, it's because I just don't do anything simple and make more work for myself. :)
