Get the BulkBuyCrate MOD, purchase a SINGLE BulkBuyCrate, and place it in front of the Bucket (or is it a Pan) with all the Gems. What MAY happen is that Pan gets sucked into the Bulk Buy Crate. Take the Crate to the Jewelers and try to get the Pan (or Bucket) out of the Crate. You may drop to 0.5 FPS, but try to have yourself positioned such that the Pan (or Bucket) will have it's Drop point over the Jewelers table. Try dropping the object onto the table (that you've pre-positioned yourself for) and then walk away from your computer for a while (just check it intermittently to see if ANYTHING has changed). If you get get the object (Bucket or Pan) onto the table and can get the FPS to settle, you may be able to press the button to SELL all those Gems.
Then check around the Shop at the bottom of the hill from the Jeweler. You should find a Gem Compressor. Place all future Gems into the Gem Compressor and make sure it has a water supply. Pull the handle on the Gem Compressor ever now and then. This will compress all the Gems into 4 LARGE Gems and keep the Nugget count down.
The minerals will remember they don't like overlapping and should be physics enabled all at once and while you'll have a slideshow for a moment as they all expand and fling themselves everywhere in a spectacular blast. The resulting piles will be easier to scoop up in smaller quantities, again using the magnet stick to make that easier. Maybe build a quick room around the area to contain the gem-splosion so they don't scatter across the whole zip code.
No mods needed~
The one concern with THIS solution is if he's already experiencing FPS lags due to the number of Gems in the Bucket. If his FPS is already close to ZERO, he may not be ABLE to go get the components to build a room. Clearing the Raw Resources will completely avoid that. Yes, he'll lose the Hc from all those resources that'll get deleted, but he'll keep his save and can then produce those resources again.
With reactivating the Mine after clearing Raw Resource (and maybe Dirt), I highly recommend all Raw Resources go through Sorters and straight into Smelters, and Raw Gems to through a Gem Polishing Hook and into a Gem Compressor that is either manually activated on a regular basis or a Logic Automation System to automatically compress it down to 4 Gems either based on a Gem Counter or Gem Weight. BOTH of these solutions have been covered in other Discussions...
