Shovels: What is the difference between them now? (2.0)

Shovels used to remove more dirt if they were better. The Tier 2 shovel now fills a bucket in 4 hits, just as the Tier 1 shovel does. There is no difference now.

What is the difference between the shovels now?

A shovel tier 1 can only dig up tier 1 dirt, roughly 8 blocks down, and a tier 2 shovel can dig tier 1 and tier 2 dirt, even further down. Same with pickaxes, drills, etc...
