Conveyer sorter?
How do you set these up so they don't spew everything on the ground?

do i need funnels on all 3 sides of the sorter? one to collect ore before its sorted and 2 to collect ore after its sorted?

Hey

Looking at the Splitter from the Dial side -
Input is on the left side of the Splitter.
Selected output (on the dial) is sent out opposite the dial.
Remaining output is sent out the right side of the Splitter.

I'd recommend having a Straight / Centraliser Conveyor on each side of the Splitter to minimise the risk of spillage.

ok tyvm i was looking at some videos got ideas but i will try centralizer first. seems sometimes ore slides to one side before going into a pan . so guards and centralizer belt may help. i jus getting an early sorting set up going on a fresh game. i think harvesters feeding into a funnel and centralizer should work. i'm just trying stuff for now.i'm not rushing my self to late game im working on first plot still. i guess im learning how stuff works in game for now. i enjoy some the youtube videos almost as much as the game. some stuff added to game i havent bought yet
i think you should eventually look into multiplayer or co-op options for this game. i think it be as popular as games like factorio or minecraft.

one guy even designed a pit with funnels and crucibles for smelting.

Hey :)

There is a known bug wherein if you have Splitters right next to each other, they'll spit out resources at an angle. Try to space them out with a conveyor belt in between each one.

In regards to Multiplayer, this is requested multiple times per week on various social channels and as such it hasn't been ruled out, but is not at the top of the to-do list as Max has stated he has no plans for adding Multiplayer to Hydroneer as he is "refining a single player experience".

The angle seems to increase with each chained splitter, but it makes the items spiral into a funnel real nice. Just make sure to put a tin wall on the last one, those occasionally get so much speed they fly out of the funnel.
But if you put conveyors on the side before dropping it into a funnel, the conveyor will grab any nuggets and negate the angle glitch.

last setup i did i put conveyer centralizers on all sides.

This is my current setup for sorters. Not a single nugget will go out of place, and they all end up in the smelters below the funnels (or the compressor).
It's also my favorite place to view this rig, you can almost hear the little nuggets go 'Wheeee!' as they get launched into the air :D

those are the sorters in front? why do you need 6? I only needed 4?
Seedling Nov 20, 2020 @ 3:24pm
The first 4 sort iron, gold, shards and cloutium, then feed them into their own smelter. The 6th sorts out raw gems and drops them into a compressor. Any dirt that got into the sorting belt is recycled back onto the dirt belt. The 5th sorter is a dummy, set to sorting iron, but its real purpose is to provide pressure to the compressor. I just think it looks nicer then pipes.

I also have another sorter on the goliath dirt line down in the pit, which doesn't actually sort anything but it's a convenient way to add pressure to the line from the middle of the line, rather then snake a pipe all the way around to the start or end of the line.

Yea, all my lines are fed from the side by sorters, it's too awkward trying to run a pipe all the way to the far end, and I don't feel like doing the gymnastics to get water in around the extractor. We really need a conveyor with a cross water line.

I am having an issue with the right sorter, iron.

I have a 6 star lava harvester, and about 10 drills. The ore size is pushing 8.5 wt per piece.

The iron sorter is fine when I am down in the pit but it goes dumb when I leave for say 5 to 10 minutes. It then starts throwing all ores out to the right and I get a mess that takes a long time to clean up.

Hey chucksssss65 - thanks for using the search feature, but unfortunately this post is 4 years old and mostly unrelated to your issue. however, please post a new thread to help visibility. Thanks!
