What is the easiest way to smelt bars? Meaning combining bars to bigger ones.

Once you've created a big bar it starts to become difficult to do so. However, you can use the hand saw to cut bars in half. But like I said, it becomes difficult to do because the bar may take several half saws to make it small enough to put into the crucible.

I spent about 30 minutes cutting up a $8,000 bar. So that I could remelt it into a bigger bar.

I should say, it's not difficult, it's just time consuming.

With alot of testing, I managed to even get bigger bars (until 10k) to load into the crubicle with a funnel. You still have to position the bar to fall into the crubicle but it's atm the easiest way for me to go.
I saw on the youtube update from max that this will be combined into the new version.
This is something that you don't figure out with normal gameplay.
Biggest bar without cutting atm is 100k, after that the bar is too big and you can't let it fall.

put more gold into the crucible then the bars will be more expensive

You can just lay down the gold bars on the ground, take the crucible and hold the "E" key to go into "placing mode". Then you just go over and around the bars until they get "stuck" on the crucible. Yes the method is wonky, but after you have placed the crucible, "decorated" with bars, on the furnace and it melts, everything comes into place. And you don't lose any gold, which is the most important after all
