Can't empty bucket of dirt into pan??

I've just got the game and have watched the tutorial. My problem is when I have a pan full of water and a bucket full of dirt I can't empty the bucket into the pan. I've tried left mouse and e and all other keys but nothing works. I can empty the bucket pressing left mouse.

You can't empty dirt into a full pan, aka dirt first, water second.

1. Shovel 4 (or two with the better shovel) clumbs of dirt into a small bucket
2. Empty the bucket into your pen
3. Drop the pan into the river and pick it up again
4. Use the brush on the full pan
5. Repeat til you deem the pan full enough to sell your stuff.

Thanks for your help, I tried what you said. I cant empty a full bucket of dirt into the pan either. I even tried to fill the pan up with a bucket full of water and that wouldn't work.

I figured out I can just shovel dirt into the pan and it works from there! Not at all whats in the tutorial but it'll work for me.

You interact with "e" (picking up and dropping items) and left mouseclick (for example droping dirt from a bucket into the pan). In both cases the lil green circle on the left bottom is where stuff goes, align the circle with the inside of your pan before dropping the dirt into your pan.

What the first 5 minutes of the clip doesn't tell you is the game doesn't like you emptying a bucket (click while holding bucket or pan) if the blue cursor is pointing at another bucket or pan, which can be a pain if you line everything up close. As far as emptying buckets and pans go leave a little gap between things for easy emptying.

Now with the shovel, it doesn't care. You can empty the shovel into upside down buckets stacked on other buckets, while looking at a bucket playing a bucket playing another bucket.
