Big dirt clumps
I've been combining two buckets worth of dirt together into a big clump before dropping it in a pan, is this the correct thing to do?
Or am I actually loosing one of the clumps resources by doing it this way?

So what's been happening when I combine two bucket fulls on the floor into a bigger one and then put that into the pan by holding E, have i just been loosing half of my resources this whole time?

I'm sorry to say, but yes you did. The pan can only hold 1 full bucket, so you only will receive the yield of 1 bucket.

isnt that to big for the pan? last time i play was not possible and i had to use pickaxe.
1 bucket for a pan is enough, which is 2 good shovels or 4 bad shovels content.

If you hold E for the more detailed placer then you can put the big clumps in the pan, which is what I've been doing.
