How will this counter hackers / cheaters? Anti Cheat software?
I can allready see the hackers having a fest with the scripting possibles. How will you prevent this?

Actually, Most hacks that cloud be made for this game would contain ESP & BHop. This factor is more for community owners to deal with not the developers. If you read the description on the store page of the game you'll see it states that Onsets servers are "Community hosted", Meaning they don't host there own servers. This question you ask, "How will this counter hackers?" is up to the community to combat against them.

So you are saying a game that relies on pure lua scripting cant be exploited by loading custom lua code (money, spawning weapons, cars etc) by a client?

i think it's the job of the server to get anti cheat or moderator

Money and such things are supposed to be scripted in (server side) so there wont have to be problems with such things, speedhacking and things like that yes, but the server scripter should come up with some anti cheat for such things.

Easy AC looks like a good client side anti cheat, so that's probably going to be added during EA.

In order to do that you'll need access to the servers RCON and the only way to do so would be via back door. The only way a back door could be added is by a server developer. It would be very hard to hack without access to the server files

Some sort of in-built system to prevent LUA exploits would be massively beneficial to this game in the long run. Just look at how many gmod addons have backdoors and viruses.

Battleye is also a good candidate (in my opinion). They have extensive experience of preventing clients from executing unwanted commands with scripting languages (eg. Arma 3 has this functionality with its SQF scripting language).

Well the same also counts for Garry´s Mod, but the game still has VAC, just like Counter-Strike. Source etc.
