Sure, just as you say, mahjong takes a bit to learn, but if the player in question has a liking to it then it becomes less tedious, I can definitely attest to this.
0 simply has a lot of activities and a lot of thing to do on each of them, 5 has less variety of achievables per activity/minigame but has a good number, spread over 5 cities. For me personally the coliseum was a nightmare, specially since I had chosen Hard as my difficulty (i ended up lowering it via hex editing for Akiyama). In hindsight 0's requirements aren't all insanely bad from what I remember.
Combat in 0 is easy, you just spam Beast or Breaker and you win. I had zero trouble not being able to carry my completed file for my premium adventure run, I just used all the money from chapter clears into those 2 styles and that's all it took.
It also took me way more time to complete 5 than 0, so yeah, all my points go to 5.
100% agree, though both games have a special game in my heart.
Lmao, I hated it too, until Yakuza Kiwami 2, I started to love it after getting the hang of it. And now I have over 100 hours on one of the mahjong games. I swear it's fun once you understand some of it and can play by yourself.
I also employed a little trick called, "If I don't win or things don't fall into a winning thing immediately, I quit and reload".
The amount of patience I have for gambling in this game is right up there with a drunken father from Missouri.
