Another update, and the issue continues to be ignored.
Frankly, the way they've been handling this, basically ignoring the questions, and the people presenting them, has made me as upset as the actual lack of the content.

If it was removed because of whatever reason, at least say something like "we had to remove this content because of ...", instead of ignoring the comments on Steam, the social media questions, and even emails sent about this matter.

What a crappy way of handling things.

I must agree with JCB here. I don't care that much about Pachinko itself, but the lack of response from Sega is pretty lame.

I initially planned on buying Yakuza 6 on release (even though I won't be playing it for a while), but according to how the company handled these remasters, I guess I'll pass on this one for now

Same. It bothers me a lot to know that I'm playing the snipped, altered or incomplete version of any game, especially in the yakuza series when a single minigame can provide hours of entertainment, yet for some reason, which the developers don't see fit to explain, my version doesn't have it. I get bummed out now whenever I run past Volcano or talk to an NPC who's babbling about pachinko.

Initially I was delighted that these versions of the games contain no Denuvo, but somehow Sega found a way to sour the experience slightly anyway. Like you, I was initially locked in for a Y6 pre-purchase, but as it stands at this rate I'll probably still be postponing my playthrough of Yakuza 5, hoping for an impossible mod or some word from Sega.

Its the principal of it, knowingly paying for a broken game.

Apparently Yakuza : Like a Dragon got a patch which fixed the Pachinko in that game. Perhaps this raises hope for Pachinko being patched for the remasters?

It was a day 1 thing, here it's cut content.
SEGA sucks

Yeah but think of it this way. Maybe QLOC cut it when they ported the game because they didn't know how to work with it. That's why they botched it in Y7.

So, since they fixed it there, maybe they now have the capability to port it in these remasters. This is purely conjecture but it is interesting to think about

Not that big a deal tbh, it's just a stupid pachinko machine. Game still worth every penny and still the superior version to all else by virtue of it being on PC. One of you should just suck it up and mod the machine in already.

If it were that easy then it would've been done already. Modders don't have source code to work with so they can't do extensive things like that.

It's up to QLOC and SEGA to fix it

Too bad I guess, whatever.
the pachinko runs a separate executable which is basically a small emulator (horribly optimized on ps3 btw). So it's actually gone. I read it's in the xbox version so I think it's doable but it would take some serious work because you'd be replacing code in the main executable. No one knows why Sega left it out but I would like to remind everyone that Yakuza Like A Dragon was delayed in SEA (south east asia). Considering China and at least one other country I've read about does not like pachinko gambling in video games. So I would say they just cut it out so they didn't have to mess with a separate SEA version.

So on one hand, they should absolutely tell us they are just going to ignore the problem but on the other a lot of people complained about Y7 being delayed in SEA on Steam. Personally, pachinko really sucks. I think it also sucks that it's cut but if it means SEA players get the game too without god knows how much of a wait, I'll call it even.

Is it gone from Xbox versions in SEA? If not, then I don't see how any regional considerations of legality are relevant at all. If they were, I also don't see why we wouldn't have heard about that reasoning from Sega or QLOC, since this would actually constitute one (1) more reason than the none (0) they've offered.

I also don't consider it relevant when people say 'eeeih that minigame sucks anyways'. Plenty of people think that about plenty of minigames. I think shogi sucks and so I don't touch it. But lots of people think mahjong sucks and I've got tens of hours in it. This isn't relevant or in anyway objective. It's just post hoc rationalisation to say nobody would miss any given minigame, with the implication being 'so therefore shut up please'.

Very little of this is directed at you in particular, but your reminder does not resolve the inconsistency between PC and xbox versions. No other opinions on the quality of the minigame constitute anything more than rehashed Sega-apologist reasoning.
