Karaoke Timing Bugged?
I think karaoke is slightly bugged because the timing to press the buttons don't exactly match up the beat of the song. I didn't experience this problem in either Yakuza 3 or 4. It's not game breaking, but it's still kinda annoying.

I actually found karaoke in 5 better than in 4 and 3. But I've seen other people talking about button press timing issues. My guess would be it might have something to do with framerate since these 3 ports are very framerate tied, so changes in framerate might affect karaoke button presses.

I'm playing in borderless mode, Vsync off and framerate set to auto. Perhaps try that and see if it helps with timing issues.

I already have those settings enabled and to doubly make sure, I turned off Vsync via the Nvidia control panel but problem is still there.

I noticed it too, actually. Felt like a half-second or so of input lag, and had to adjust to pressing it just before the meter hit the icon. I had a thought it was my wireless controller, but it didn't have issues with the previous games either.

For me personally, I don't think it's input lag. It's that the beats of the song is actually slightly ahead of when to press the buttons.

For as long as I've played rhythm games they've had this issue. Poor mapping's the bane of my existence.

Well, I just reached Haruka's section of the game, and can say this issue is specific to the Kareoke. Haruka's dance game is pretty much perfect on the timing, feels much better to play.

It isn't specific to Karaoke, though, as it happens in Taiko as well. Which had me worried about Haruka's section, so thanks for clearing that up.

Sorry to revive a dead post but I have the same issue even harukas section feels off, and I’m wondering if there’s any fix. I tried lowering my refresh rate to 60 but it didn’t help much.

Nevermind I fixed it, you just have to lower it all the way down to 30

A little annoying but it works

Well, that is the bug, the framerate ♥♥♥♥♥ with the logic, but Haruka felt perfectly fine to me at 60, but that's what I was playing at anyway.

I'm surprised that they never fixed it in the time since, though, since they did fix the fishing in Yakuza 3 which the higher framerate totally borked. Or at least I think they did, I haven't gone back to play Yakuza 3 since my first time through it.

For some odd reason, turning the refresh rate down to 30 still ran the game at 60fps and all the timing was perfect, until i closed the game. Now no matter what refresh rate or framerate settings i change the timing is still extremely off, which is really annoying when i know the song by heart and would very much be able to get a perfect score if it was on time.
