Saejima kinda sucks huh?

I have played all the games through on PS4 in release order and now on Steam again to refresh my memory and gotta say that Saejima just sucks to play as. Everything is a struggle because he doesn't really hit hard like in later games. Guess I'll just have to double down on healing items on him. The fight against Kiryu on the beach was miserable. Saejima doesn't have any opening moves on him. Please tell me if there's any way to make him better. 'preciated.

agreed, his moveset is wack and then in 5 he is one of the best to play as
the worst is the amon fight, bad moveset plus sango's stupid OP hammer eats 40% of saejima's health

Well, I'm getting used to using him. Got a few new moves now, he's more than playable. But enjoyable is another thing, I'm winning fights but not having quite as much fun with him.

So far, playing him is the "hardest" the game gets on hard.
Even then that was only for the prison section lol.

And its hard in a bad way, because for too many enemies, you can do anything besides spam like your charge move till you spread them out, or something. Since if you dodge often youll be smacked into a CC chain. ive been CC locked for 30 seconds before lmao.

It gets better as you level, and when you do hit, you deal a ton of damage. But he kinda "sucks" cuz he is stupid slow in everything. Often I will just spam the hold, and slam them to the ground then get a few cheap hits in.

I like him, since you feel super bad ass, just a slow moving piece of meat, that grabs people and tosses them around like a pebble.
Yakuza 4 is a solid game, but imo it is also some what boring at the same time, because your move sets are limited, you get one combo pretty much. And its just way too easy. And when its "hard" it was only while playing this guy and being stun locked for a long period of time and even then, its hard to die lol.

Also, get speed stuff, and the talent that makes it so you dont get knocked down nearly as easily, or staggered when you have heat.
You deal a lot of damage already as him, so you dont need to always use heat moves. Then a bit later, then once you get better at him you can eventually just position your self well if not in a small space, and poo on people. IT just isnt like the first guy you play where you get to perma stun lock an entire group cuz he does like 20 attacks ina row and can easily turn while doing them lol.

This guy ocne you attack, its hard to turn around.

The prison was hell as him in early game. That guard who combos forever and is speedy while you're stuck with this slow lug. Oof.

It gets better as you level him.
