Difficulty feels off
So I'm in the starting hours of Yakuza 4 (still playing as Akiyama), and for some reason the game feels weirdly easy? I'm playing on Normal and the enemies are really dumb, swinging into air as well as dealing barely any damage (same goes for the bosses). Is the difficulty just wack on purpose or am I just being dumb? I assume you can't change the difficulty mid-game, so I dont feel like starting all over on Hard just to feel a challenge.

if youve arrived from yakuza 3, then 4 will feel VERY easy

Im playing on hard and its easy specialy akiyama, the other characters get a liitle difficult at the start until you level up to lvl 10 or so but yeah the game is easy.

If you think any of Yakuza games are anything but easy you haven't played any actually hard games tbh

Because lot of scrubs complaining Yakuza 3 is too hard and they can no longer win byt mindless button mashing so the devb listened and made the game easier than it already is

wait until you play yakuza 5 tho. it's even easier than 4. they even had to give kiryu tiger drop an upgrade as if not powerful enough already and a temporariy god mode where enemy won't be able to damage him on top of that. also they gave Saejima his own tiger drop in 5

>they had to make it easier cause of yakuza 3
lmao no way, that's so stupid. Yakuza 3 was hard but not impossible, what a cancer change

Lol I feel that I played all of them on hard and it was ridiculously easy after Yakuza 3 for me but I think it's just cause Yakuza 3 is Yakuza 3

I gave up facing saito lol That mofo teleports and his attacks can't be blocked top it off the big fat olf you play sucks at fighting as he is hella slow.

yeah I absolutely get you, Saejima is probably my least favorite character in terms of combat, and the Saito boss fight sucks cause you dont have the guard counter there because you are at the start of the story with him

The Yakzua games are generally pretty easy. Makes me think the highest difficulties should always be unlocked right away and not just when you've beaten the game once already. But even then it's just a fun, but not very complicated combat loop.

With Yakuza 3 they seemed to push the minimum requirement of what people need to know about the mechanics a bit. You can absolutely just brute-force your way through that one too, but it's slow and tedious, because most frontal attacks will just constantly get blocked. Once you got down how to deal with that and apply it to a game where it isn't even required, it feels much easier.

Yakuza 3 felt very well balanced but then 4 feels like its compensating for the button-masher parts of the community

Never got why people thought 3 was too difficult anyways. It really just a matter of reacting and getting behind the enemies to pull off full combos. Felt a lot better than just being able to pull off the same thing without any build-up.

Anyone says Yakuza 3 is too hard most likely never finish the game and rage quit halfway

in fact in yakuza 3 the game will grant you ability WHERE KIRYU LITERALLY WON'T DIE as long as he's in heat mode. this really make the entire game become a joke as you can just stuff tauriner in your inventory and won't have to worry about dying. and don't get me started once you obtain War god talisman turn the fight into even bigger joke

i use war god talisman on legend difficulty and i can tell you it's the easiest Amon fight i've ever encouter

I always considered items like that talisman to be more like "fun-cheats" or modifiers, that aren't just packed into a menu as an option. Some of them definitly break the game, but I guess that's intentional.

yakuza 3 is a fairly easy game, people that call it blockuza dont know how to play beat em up since they button mash, that said yakuza 4's multiple protagonist approach does make it easier when facing thugs, although i will agree some bosses in 4 are way harder than 3 (saito 4th fight)
