SilentPatch for Yakuza 4, reduces CPU usage and fixes a crash
https://cookieplmonster.github.io/mods/yakuza-4/#silentpatch

  • CPU usage has been cut down as much as reasonably possible. Yakuza 3 CPU usage has been cut down drastically; Yakuza 4 sees smaller gains, but the difference should still be noticeable.
  • A low level keyboard hook potentially causing issues with slow typing speed has been removed.
  • Worked around a crash occurring occasionally after finishing battles with a Heat Action.

Are you actually being serious?

Yes. He's only reduced CPU usage with a patch, not rewrite the game.

I'd point it out on github but it requires an account I can't be arsed to make. While it does lower cpu usage, it seems to *dramatically* increase loading times when in use, at least for y4. I'm seeing the loading icon cycle 5 or more times where I'd usually only get a brief black screen. On an m2SSD, which, due to how it's involved with the processor, might be why.

Yeah, that is expected (for now). Like I mentioned in Yakuza 3 topic:

Slightly longer loading times are expected - after all, CPU doesn't spin as much and so it might take a bit longer for various loading jobs etc. to be processed.

I believe QLOC could fix CPU usage in a way which would not solve loading, but I don't think I can. Not without the source access.

I'll edit the mod pages to mention it in "Known issues".

I do hope they fix it properly. I have the power to spare so I've disabled the mod for now, but I'm sure a lot of people are suffering really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ results and your mods the only way it's working well, I was able to see a clear difference in stats, and a little in motion. (for my cpu core 4 was 100% all the time the main game was loaded outside the main menu, dropped off a lot with the mod) (No mod it seems to ever so slightly hitch on occasion, not badly enough for me to prefer the load times).

Thanks for the work.

This was V E R Y noticeable like hell, I played the PS4 version of the remastered version and was like WTF are the loading time 10x longer on PC with my SSD than on my PS4 with a HDD and was honestly ready to refund the collection and stick to the ps4 version since you spent a lot of time going in and out stores in theses games. Glad to know it's because I installed this. Not spitting on this patch through, I know Silent did the best he could, hopefully QLOC will make a proper patch soon enough.
