No check on cuss words as gamer tags?

They need to do something about this right away. You cant let kids play a game where the most common #Gamertag is variations of the N word. NOT CHILDREN FRIENDLY. What is this game rated anyways... like PG-13? I redact my "children friendly" statement if this game is aged for adults only but I highly doubt that...

Also an "Only In-game Chat" is useless for anything short of taunting or dying as you ask someone if they want to "team up?". Make it so you can message friends or something, or just remove it altogether. Grouping up with people feels pointless without at least an "In-between games Chat". There's no good way to share discord information between friends as well so parties with strangers are usually dropped after a few games.

Lastly a suggestion of a friend i play with often had:
1. The ability to see number of spectators viewing the game still.
2. When spectating, be able to see when a player gets a kill, his active kill count, and remaining players alive.

Even if that's true, having the solution, tell the kid to turn off names, isn't protecting them from not seeing vulgar things. maybe try to be pro-active and ban racist names. its not that hard. sadly like most bad faith companies its easier to just pass the responsibility off on the user.. again you need to ban these names not make it so you cant see names at all.

Why is it the companies' responsibility to make sure your kid doesn't see any "bad words"? The filters are in place if you so choose to use them as the parent according to that dev response, which is giving you as much power as a consumer AND a parent as possible.. If you aren't constantly checking in on your kid to verify the content they consume isn't against your wishes....that's kinda on you, isn't it? Does that freedom need stripped from other players for you? They didn't pass anything on to you. Just because a movie can be rated PG-13 doesn't mean there won't be things that *you* don't want them to see/know. It's a guideline for a parent to...yanno, parent.
