The Room VR: A Dark Matter

The Room VR: A Dark Matter

VR Only? Why?
I really love the ROOM series but I can play FPS or full 3D Adventures by mouse and keyboard, too.
I know that Virtual reality in specific games like this may change the whole experience and that may be great for the gameplay.

BUT seriously VR is NOT supported from all players. The reasons may be from
economic,
compatibility of games,
small gamma of SERIOUS games that support VR,
reasons of health problems,
total isolation from the normal environment,
the fact that I have to wear some add including the weight to play and
many many many more reasons.

WHY ONLY VR? Guys.. Get serious. You have a Gem series and now you ruin it.
We will NOT pay the amount of about 250 euros or more to get a serious VR headset JUST for you. Sorry! If you want us as customers you have to think more of your moves in the game market industry...

There are 2d version , enjoy it. Vr is different level of interaction , it incomparably better you are inside this story, i appreciate developers efforts to make such a great vr game
The point is to keep compatibility with the most players. The most players don't own VR and don't want to... So YES, use VR in your game but make it possible for all to play. In other way they'll not buy the game

We made a post on this, it's pinned to the top of the discussion board :steamhappy:

Saw it but I felt the need to react... I think I subscribed to the post but I could leave no comments. We need something that many users could prove their reaction to this move the company made, as a proof of our protest to their product... Do the job and this post will be removed....

You realize it's their forum and they can delete threads and posts whenever they desire? :heroicfacepalm:
Well... Don't know really if they have that power in Steam Store and many games still have bad reviews and bad posts all over Steam... But things of internet is Democracy... Anyway I am not here to hurt anyone but to remember everyone that VR should NOT be the ONLY way to play their new title.
I'm not talking about the store. I'm talking about these forums here. That's not the point anyway.

They made a development decision to create a VR game and that's it. It's a niche game for a niche market, so they'll figure out at some point if that was the right and financially viable decision to make, but you can't really blame them for trying out something new and having the ambition to widen their perspective and tackle new challenges. That's how studios grow and become better.

When are people going to realize that 2d and VR are two different dogs..

TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES

I had no idea till I put one on my face.

Have not gone back, cannot get enough of VR..

I'm GLAD that they did this..

there are what 4 games available on tablet/cellphone and they ported 3 of em here.

LET ME DO A VR version..

leave it be.

That's like me complaining when there was no PC version that there were cell phone versions and I do not own a cell phone.

Wel, I know that VR is totally different. I have used it. It's surprising at start. But playing in my screen or in my laptop relaxed and with no add-ons is more relaxed. I don't care for the experience because I am old school anyway. The game was always imagination. People don't have imagination any more. They prefer GREAT graphics and forgot the gameplay. The game IS the gameplay. That's why the ROOM series is so GOOD. It has that mystery, the child in you that wants to see all the house, to search everything, learning the secrets, those that others didn't find. Apocryphal meanings everywhere. A strange beauty. But the game is losing itself and as the series go on, the game counts on graphics. It isn't that old feeling. We lost that search and gone to scientific experiments of the past. Anyway... The story has to go somewhere but not lose its crowd. As for VR, I prefer playing in my couch without a headset, sorry. And yes, I have used one but not like it. I prefer to communicate with the environment and not something to push my face and have a weight in my head. Want to know the feeling about earings and the hand set, too? I am a free man. I don't want something that puts limits on me.

How ironic - you like clicking a mouse and not using your hands to solve puzzles. Ok nature boy.
I can remove my hands from the mouse or keyboard when I want and keep doing things around. It's not the same with a headset and 2 controllers in your hands.
Stop crying man, seriously grow up. They made the game for the VR community. Move on with your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ life

The manners make the man they say.... I am not deleting this post because I believe in democracy. But some times you have to understand that the guys that write or speak about adulthood don't perceive the meanings behind the lines they read. My friend, Earth is not flat. Things are not so simple all times. And yes, maybe I am very forward with my life. I am a grown up man. That's why I want to write some matters I am worrying about. A discussion is a very serious tool to resolve matters, a very useful tool in civilized communities, when there are not people killing it with your words. Thank you!
I wish you could play the game both with and without VR In other games one can!
That's Exactly my point!
