No, there are some non-melee skills that can trigger overdrive after u upgrade them
Mage: ray of obeliration and book smash
Knight: throwing sword
Huntress: void arrow

Chain lightning is more Electric Arc.
There are some fun builds to do using Kah Veer if you want to send lightnings all around.
