Critical Strike and Ancenstral Strike
If i understoof this correctly, te ancestral strike is basically the crit of the crit. So if I crit I have an extra chance to crit again (ancestral strike) which deals much more damage than a normal critical hit.
Does this mean the critical damage is still added to the or does the ancestral strike replace the critical hit?

OP, you were right in your question : Ancestral strikes are crits of crits and deal even more damage (they do replace the critical damage and don't add up).
As Promethian and Torinux said, when the Ancestral Legacy tree unlocks you'll be able to get more procs that triggers on Ancestral strikes as well.

No. Ancestral Strikes have to be equipped on the Ancestral Legacy tree. We currently have access to two of them. One in the ice section and one in the lightning section. Your AS chance is your chance to fire them off when you hit.

Okay, that's very confusingly explained in the tooltip then.
Thanks for the answer.

Mhh i think AS is applied after CS and it has its own dmg multi. Ingame i see yellow CS and orange AS.

First, you need high Critical Chance (normal) THEN, you need Ancestral Critical chance. Ancestral Skills proc off of your critical hits. So you can have 100% crit chance and still need a high Ancestral Crit chance.

That's why after almost a month, you can see they kinda messed up their Early Access release, they added a lot of stuff (stat wise) that can't be use to it's fullest and some stats are straight useless. I'm looking at you additives %.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Okay, thanks, this makes some stuff clearer now.
I hope stuff like this will be better explained when the help codex finally is implemented.

Yeah, we are being "forced" to discover what stats do. But to be honest, it's been fun to discover how the game works without a proper help function.

All stats have an explanation in game.
Just open the inventory, check the three pages of character stats, and hover the one for which you want to know more.
The tooltip should appear, explaining what the stat does, and giving more details about its current value (total flat bonus, total multiplier bonus, etc).

There are many stats - some are not useful right now -but I don't believe there are many for which the explanation is not detailed enough.
