Please focus on multiplayer
Hi,
This game looks really great, but could you consider supporting a multiplayer right from the beginning ?

When game is finished it's usually too late and it's not possible to add multiplayer without rewriting nearly whole game.

I believe there is huge market demand for such a game.
This could be great game just to hang with friends on discord and play together.
Also a lots of people from Chronicon would probably flock here.

I would like to kindly but firmly ask you if you are willing at least try it ?

M.

No no no no no ..... finally a sp game I can enjoy without playing with others. It's a good think for me that you guys only focus on that. There are so many other games like this who have a mp part.

So  for sp!

The game core is complete so adding multiplayer right now would take as much time as if it the game was finished. :steamhappy:
We've said it before but unfortunately, I'm the only developer and this is our first game so we'd rather focus on something we can handle and create a great single player game before thinking about multiplayer.

Multiplayer is not something you just add. It needs cool ideas and concept, decent latency, security against cheaters, among other things.

So that's not possible right now but it might be in the future.
does this include a leaderboard system? Tbh that might appease people and be less intense than a full multiplayer revamp

I agree with you 100%, none of these consumers understand how much resources and time is needed to just "add multiplayer". What about LAN co-op in the future though? Latency and security vs cheats won't be needed. A lot of small games like yours (e.g. Chronicon) have this feature.

Another like-minded guy.
I think the devs don't really need to listen to people that don't know about any dev pipeline.

Music to my ears, not everything has to be MP.

Multiplayer is overated in ARPGs. Maybe ladders / times runs for the competitive guys and gals, sure, if you must.

For me though, I just want a solid SP experience with a compelling endgame like tiered GRs in Diablo 3.

This game is a dream come true.

I'm in the single player camp honestly. If people want multiplayer, they can go play literally any other ARPG made in the last 10 years. I don't really want yet another ARPG which is balanced around me having to trade with other players to get good gear for a build I want to play. I just want a game I can play, with loot that's mine and loot tables balanced around what one person could realistically gather.

I can see the argument for co-op, because playing with friends is usually a good time, but I don't think that it's required for the game to be good. I've spent loads of time playing with my husband where we're playing a game side by side and it's still fun, even if we're not in the same world together.

I saw the term rogue-lite come up in this thread a couple times and I'm not sure why. This game isn't a rogue-lite. It's not trying to be one. If you want something like this with rogue-lite elements then you're probly more in the market for something like Hero Siege as opposed to this.

If you want a multiplayer ARPG, you're spoiled for choice honestly. Multiplayer is by no means required for a game to be fun.

Absolute no to multiplayer. Steam and PC gaming in general is saturated with MP games that replace content with player interactions. No non nope. Lets have a good game for a change.

I think coop ever expands a games scope and replay ability and its clever to have some sort of interaction with other players.
Even if indirectly, like for example Demons Souls note system or Helldivers community campaign.

But while it can be crucial for some genres (rts for example) to have them, an rpg must not.

If you want an ARPG with loot and coop, I recommend taking a look at the upcoming The Ascend.

Same Screen/Split Screen is easier done than coop.
For the first you have a second player in the game that is controlled by another gamepad/keyboard on your pc.
Locan multi is coop in essence. You still need networking for it to work and harder to implement.
