VR?!
Can you imagine? Probably another standalone VR version of KoboldKare? Or an update to make it possible? It'd be really cool.

Using the network update fork, i got it working pretty well in VR with the Index. Everything renders correctly and I made looking around work with how it was already made so grabbing an activating works as you would expect. Works great with the position animations. Even scales properly when you grow/shrink so everything feels really small or large depending on size. Its cool running around as a tiny salamander lol

Only issue is I'm sure a ton of stuff is going to change in this coming patch so I'll have to redo everything. Maybe I'll make a mod for it if its possible with the next update.

You are legendary. If you could share a guide to this, I'd be greatly appreciative. I'm going to look into network update fork and see what this entails. Looking forward to this none the less. Amazing.

I'm not sure if this works with Oculus or not as I don't have a Quest to test on. Its using OpenXR and tested on my Index.

Its basically just allowing you to move your head around and view the world in VR, combined with mouse controls. No hand controls, no room-scale, lots of clipping. Its a good prototype though to show that all of the shaders work.

I don't think a guide would help lol. I imported the game into unity and wrote custom code into their scripts and messed with prefabs. It was decently involved, not to mention from what I've seen of their current build, there are many core changes that would make what I made useless. So technically it will only work on the current release.

But the concept works and works pretty well, so maybe a mod for it will be possible depending on what IS possible with the upcoming patch. (thanks to the dev for making it open source)

hhmmm can i ask what's new on the upcoming patch? Nalestrof has been silent for along time now...

I wouldn't call a month a long time. Just getting this hacky VR working took me 4 days of poking and prodding. Actual features take weeks. Months.

I don't know everything thats coming up that's new, but I saw a lot of changed code for mod support and git updates that mentioned it.
https://github.com/naelstrof/KoboldKare if you want to poke around to see what they're up to. Its pretty active.

Closest you could probably get is the new vr game coming out on steam called "HEAT" i've already subbed to their patreon and have it already

True, but Heat is restricted to sertain interactions, Kobold Kare would be so much better than Heat...

I've tried HEAT and have a lot of addons in Virtamate. Koboldkare would be cool to experience, as well.

I think the issue is with a lot of the movement being physics based you'd have to have a beast of a PC to run it and you'd also run the risk of severe locomotive motion sickness if the game were to glitch out

Not normally no but using a VR in a physics based game is very wearing for a lower end PC
